Inventory on Hand Report
The Inventory on Hand report lists every tracked variant in your Shopify store with its quantities, weighted average cost, and what the stock is worth. Open it from Reports → Inventory Reports → Inventory on Hand. It appears once purchase orders are enabled for your organization.
Where the numbers come from
Quantities are read from Shopify. The report reads your whole catalog in one pass, so it is a snapshot: the line above the filters says when the quantities were taken. Quantities refresh every 15 minutes. Refresh starts a rebuild on demand; the previous snapshot stays on screen until the new one is ready.
Costs come from Bookkeep's cost ledger. Weighted average cost is the blended cost of the units on hand, including allocated fees and discounts. See How Weighted Average Cost Works.
Supplier is the variant's default supplier from its supplier costs.
Search and filters
Search matches a product title, variant title, SKU or barcode. Press Enter or click Search.
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Vendor | One Shopify vendor. |
| Tags | Any of the selected product tags. Applies when the picker closes. |
| Location | One location. Quantity columns switch to that location's figures. |
| Supplier | One supplier. |
| Hide items with nothing in stock or on order | On by default. Turn it off to list every variant. |
With a location selected, each quantity cell shows the all-locations total with that location's share in parentheses, and the totals tiles say which location they are scoped to.
Totals
- Variants: variants matching the filters.
- Units on hand and Units on order: summed across the matching variants. On order counts units on purchase orders and transfers.
- Value on hand: units on hand at weighted average cost. Variants with no cost or negative on hand are left out, and the tile says how many.
- Retail value: units on hand at each variant's current Shopify price.
